I was able to visit Las Delicias, a poor community in La Ceiba - we played with kids, made new friends, and walked along the river.
Here Amy and I went zip lining, swam in natural hot springs, and had full body volcanic mud masks.
A Garifuna community in La Ceiba. I was graciously invited into the home of a sweet family there. We ate baleadas (traditional Honduran dish of a thick flour tortilla folded over and filled with refried beans and mantequilla), drank coffee, I played with the kids, and the adults taught me a few phrases in the Garifuna language!
Some basic phrases in Garifuna:
Ka biry? = What is your name?
Niri ... = My name is...
Ida biña? = How are you?
Buytina = I am well
