Danielle and I camped here and came out to swim at the lake. Here we had reunited with one of the friends we met in Abel Tasman National Park, and we made a pasta lunch out by the lake on our last day all together. It is a nice area, but we were more impressed with Lake Pukaki near Mount Cook.
Church of the Good Shepherd
This church was built in 1935, and was the first built in the Mackenzie Basin.
Near the Church of the Good Shepherd, is this bronze statue of a New Zealand Collie Sheepdog, which serves as recognition of the important role of the sheepdog in the livelihoods of the residents of Mackenzie County.
