Being as I have girls as young as 4 years old in my house, they are not the neatest eaters. "M" happens to be both an especially messy eater as well as one of my biggest ‘huggers’…and every Sunday after lunch she runs up to me, her face, shirt, and hands COVERED in red spaghetti sauce and gives me a giant hug…and even though I know I’m going to be scrubbing my skirt in the sink later that night, I always give her the biggest hug back.
Today I was thinking about how God is with me. I am so sinful, so dirty, messy, covered in imperfection…yet God, despite His holiness, His clean, white, perfection…NEVER rejects me…He not only allows me to come to him covered in my filth, but welcomes me with open arms, loving me so perfectly.
I am so beyond blessed that God has given me the opportunity to care for the small girls’ house…He is teaching me new things through these girls each and every day.
I have a white, flowy skirt that my good friend gave to me awhile ago. It’s my favorite skirt and I wear it a lot here, especially on Sundays when we have church…but Sundays also happen to be the days we eat spaghetti for lunch at the small girls’ house.
I believe in God's grace through Jesus. I love to learn, in a variety of contexts - reading God's Word, interacting with people from diverse backgrounds around the world, and as a student of Linguistics and Foreign Languages at Western Washington University. Pages of My Passport is dedicated to sharing this journey of learning through written and visual content.
