"Il Porcellino" ("piglet" in Italian) is the name of a boar-shaped fountain at this marketplace. Apparently, rubbing the boar's snout ensures a return trip to Florence. As you can see from the photo below, this tradition has worn away at the statue.
Piazza della Signoria
This is one of the main plazas in Florence, where I found the Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi Gallery, Loggia dei Lanzi, and several famous sculptures.
Fountain of Neptune
Hercules and Cacus
Michelangelo's Statue of David
Palazzo Vecchio The Old Palace
View of the palace from the Uffizi Gallery terrace
One of the oldest and most famous art museums in the world. Only a certain number of people are allowed inside of the museum at one time, so there was a long waiting line at the entrance. It took me about an hour and a half to get in.
"The Birth of Venus"
"Baptism of Christ", Verrocchio & Leondardo da Vinci
"Portrait of Galileo Galilei", Justus Suttermans
Basilica of Santa Maria Novella
Loggia dei Lanzi
An open-air sculpture gallery in Piazza della Signoria of antique and renaissance art.
The Streets of Florence
Chocolate wall inside of a gelato shop...yummy!
