A Garifuna community in La Ceiba. I was graciously invited into the home of a sweet family there. We ate baleadas (traditional Honduran dish of a thick flour tortilla folded over and filled with refried beans and mantequilla), drank coffee, I played with the kids, and the adults taught me a few phrases in the Garifuna language!
Some basic phrases in Garifuna:
Ka biry? = What is your name?
Niri ... = My name is...
Ida biña? = How are you?
Buytina = I am well
