Little Yangon Hostel - Yangon Great place to meet other travelers; free breakfast and coffee; staff is very helpful and can book overnight buses to next destination for you
Ostello Bello Bagan- Bagan Highly recommend if you are looking to meet other travelers; great common area; free breakfast; evening activities; nearby several motorbike rental places and good restaurants; cool rooftop area with beds and shower (though shower didn't work well when I was there) where you can hangout/rest/cleanup if you arrive before check-in time
Paw Paw's Restaurant and Community Development Project- Inle Lake All of the employees at this restaurant are marginalized women from remote areas of Myanmar. The woman who runs this project, Zizi, gives the women a place to live, a job, life skills training, and empowers them emotionally. She accepts volunteers, or you can contribute by eating a meal here (the food is delicious!) Zizi is a big-hearted and friendly woman, who I had the chance to share an evening with during my time at Inle Lake.
